Dr. Alisha Detorres specializes in hormone regulation, gut health, joint pain, and primary care. Holding a doctorate in functional medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA, she also earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Alaska and the American Military University. Her extensive clinical rotations and work background, including a decade as a certified medical assistant before completing her bachelor's degree, equipped her across diverse medical fields, encompassing orthopedic surgery, OB/GYN, gastroenterology, emergency medicine, and family care in various settings.
A member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Dr. Detorres employs research-backed and individualized medical approaches. These encompass hormone replacement, innovative treatments like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, and regenerative joint injections. With her gastroenterology experience, she explores the impact of diet on patient well-being, while her psychology background informs her understanding of the mind-body connection in promoting wellness. Dr. Detorres's commitment lies in educating patients on achieving holistic health.
She is affiliated with BCBS (Regence, Premera, Lifewise), PUD AETNA, and United Healthcare Commercial plans.
Michael has a diverse experiential and educational background that includes a degree in education and cultural anthropology from Western Washington, four years overseas with the United States Peace Corps, and a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of North Florida.
His medical experience includes over 7 years as a Coronary Care Unit RN, and now over 12 years as a Board Certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. His ARNP experience has included primary care for the home-bound/home-limited and
otolaryngology in Florida, clinic based primary care and orthopedics at Olympic Medical Center, and most recently orthopedics in the far north of Utqiagvik, AK.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, he has called Port Angeles home since 2016, along with his wife of 25 years, and his two children both of whom are Port Angeles High School graduates.
Hobbies include enjoying the vast hiking trails of the Olympic Peninsula and taunting his orthopedic background on his mountain bike and skateboard. Michael is excited to be practicing in his local community again with the staff and
patients of Coastal Health.
